Acerca de esta escucha

Colombia's president announced in May 2015 that herbicides and aerial spraying of cocaine plantations would cease and that terror groups like FARC prevented soldiers from manual eradication. Instead hungry caterpillars and ravenous coca leaf-eating moths could achieve the same risky goals. Based on a true story to halt drug traffic, a glider pilot takes on a risky one-way flight into the jungle. His delivery is a special undetectable air-drop: two hungry caterpillars. From the Amazon forest, the most potent, addictive substance has been harvested. The world is about to be turned inside out if a gang of king pins and biologists turn what might previously have been delivered by a needle into something completely invisible: a single transparent patch slapped on the addict's skin. But the last line of defense is the crop itself, with a poison thorn powerful enough to make the jungle harvesting fields impenetrable. Despite these fortifications, the one remaining vulnerability is from the air. The government begins to recruit old hang-gliding pilots for one dangerous job: destroy these Venezuelan fields. Before the first powerful drugs hit the US streets, one pilot, Max, must be recruited, trained and challenged to a long-distance jungle flight. Max and his fellow pilot, Travis, try to figure out the required thermals when the last of the Sun's heat rises in its greatest spirals of lift, otherwise known as Glass-Off. The problem is no chemical or weaponry can be carried far enough into the jungle to reach the poison fields. The weapon is two caterpillars, one male and one female, that remain the only hint of biology left that can halt the lethal drug imports. One caterpillar, working alone, will eat approximately 1.2 tons of green foliage in a year--making their mission into the delivery of a multi-ton bomb. The proposed job is both brilliant and crazy, one fit for a modern revisit by Icarus. But it appears Washington has decided their schedule needs acceleration and the hang-gliding pilot is to be a necessary casualty of this war on drugs.
