I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to into a book of characters that went back a generation but I was so pleasantly surprised and am really looking forward to the others in this series. What a fantastic and lovable group of Gentlemen. ❤️

Very sweet story! I loved all the Gents! The story lagged a little towards the end but ended well all the same.

Narrator uses too childlike a voice for Julia. It became a bit annoying. Otherwise I always enjoy this narrator's work having listened to several of her previous narrations.
Story: Always love Sarah Eden's writing! However, this plot seemed mainly about Julia complaining a lot or possibly feeling sorry for herself. I expected a much stronger protagonist.

Despite knowing that things would work out, (far too many books in their future) there was still a sense of urgency, uncertainty, and feelings dashed.
Bravo for a wonderful prequel.

In an era where arranged marriages weren’t uncommon this book takes two people from the awkward, distrustful, hurting beginning to a beautiful marriage by the end of the book.

I love the Jonquil family so it's nice to hear their history. Interesting to think about the possible dynamics of an arranged marriage. But this book was slow and lacked excitement or suspense.

I’m not really into romance stories and this one didn’t help. I feel like romance authors portray the male hero the way they wish the man of their dreams would behave.

Loved this from start to finish! I found myself laughing out loud and falling in love with all of the characters.... especially the Gents!

I liked the "gents to the rescue" idea. In my opinion, the book should have been read by a British English speaker though, would have enjoyed that more.
