When she finds out that the man convicted of killing her sister may be innocent, FBI agent and forensic psychologist Alexis Forrest goes on the search for the real culprit. Evidence of her sister’s murder was found in a remote cabin, along with traces of dozens more young women. A serial killer has been stalking these woods for decades and he’s still out there.
Alexis had returned to Broken Hill, the snowy New England town where she grew up, to investigate another case. But after finding the serial killer’s cabin with evidence of other victims, she will do anything to track him down.
Meanwhile, a family is torn apart when their son goes missing while they’re on a family vacation nearby. He disappears while sledding right outside of his Airbnb. The sled is found but the boy is gone. With a huge blizzard blowing in, Alexis must fight against nature and man to find the boy before all of the evidence of who took him and what happened to him is buried.
Will Alexis be able to find the boy in time? Can she find out who killed her sister before the serial killer claims another victim?

I hate virtual voice
Story is good. Characters interesting. Narration is horrendous, like listening to a breathy, clueless teen. But I listened anyway. 🤦🏼♀️

Robotic voice
The robot ruined the story. The speaker was nothing like a real person recording the story.

Virtual voice killed the story
I tried to like the story but the virtual voice was offputting. Could not distinguish between the characters and not much emotion.

AI voice not for me
Story good. Really didnt like delivery. Real person delivery would have been much better. Inflections really off.

Good story, AI narration not great.
Good story but AI narration is not great. AI narrator hard sometimes due to lack of inflection for different characters.

AI voice is HORRIBLE
I might have enjoyed this and the other one more but the complete monotonic AI generated voice made it impossible. Bad intonation. No emotion. Could not tell one character from another. Absolutely awful.

OMG
Holy smokes this book was just insane I can’t believe all of it. I don’t want to give any of the book away because I want others to enjoy it just as much as me. Wow just wow that’s all I got!!!!

Another Casualty of Virtual Voice
Couldn’t really get to the story because of the narration. Nothing deflates characters or the story line like an automated voice flatly saying, “I am terrified.”

Horrible AI narration
I could not even enjoy the story as the AI narration was so horrible. The AI made the story hard to follow & it seems that all Kate’s books are AI narrated. Yuck
