When Ford Caldwell took over the family’s beef operation he wanted to try and secure a better contract for his beef from the buyers. In Ford's world business is usually conducted between men. Imagine his surprise when instead of sending a man Brent Beef sent out a new representative, a woman, and a great-looking one at that! Keeping his mind on business is going to be harder than usual!
Having landed her dream job as Brent Beef's new representative Kelly Peyton is eager to prove just how good she is. Her first assignment is to sign a deal with what is considered the best cattle operation in the state, Falcon Falls. But when Kelly has her first meeting with Ford it seems like closing the deal won't be as easy as she thought not when it seems that instead of mutual respect there is only mutual dislike.
To broker the deal they are forced to spend time together out on the range and over time they find themselves drawn to each other and both are surprised by the strong mutual attraction growing between them. Then just when things are looking good for them in both their business and personal lives, her boss does something which could ruin both aspects of both their lives.
I don't want to give too much away so I'm not going to say any more, except this is an enjoyable story and both Ford and Kelly are great characters who I really wanted to find a way to be together.
The narration by Katie Boothe is very well done and added to my enjoyment of this story.
