 Grade school is the most beautiful and horrific time of one's life. For me, everything I needed to know about life, I learned between grades 1 and 5. It wasn't easy being the fat kid, the bully, or the fool. But, life is interesting, and as we age, we mature and change. Sometimes, this is for the better, and other times, it's for the worst. I experienced both, and ultimately, one could argue that my education was slightly unstable compared to others. They are correct, but I must say that although it wasn't perfect I learned quite a bit. There were moments of happiness, tragedy, failure, success, and compassion, and despite it being quite average, these events were monumental for me and have allowed me to be the person I am today, for better or for worse. Childhood is a formative time, and there are many that we meet along our journey. The beauty of life is what we take from these experiences and how we can use them to shape a better world. Like all, I have struggled, but I have come to find peace with so many things that once frustrated me. In reality, my grade school years and experiences have been repeating themselves for decades on a grander scale, and the events that I have undergone helped me navigate through the good and bad that I have had to endure since. I am thankful.
