I understand that this is a fictional book, but it's based on true stories from WWII. I honestly had no idea that families would donate their dogs for the war. So, this book was sad, but good. My daughter has been reading this series and I can see why she wanted me to read them too. I highly recommend this book to all readers.

I learned a lot while listening to this book about times during and after the war. A great story about history, the families and everything that took place. I highly recommend this book.
