And the Warden knows a dangerous secret. For the dragons are returning....
Thieves, book two
Ridmark Arban defended the town of Castarium from dark forces, but the Warden of Urd Morlemoch has other servants.

Th difficulty I am having is the writers over use of one particular word. I think it is a combination of the use of this word, plus the way that the narrator says it.
The word is “said”. I think that the writer could have used many other synonyms that would have brought more depth to the scenes where lengthy conversations take place.
When listening to a long passage that is a conversation between two or more characters it becomes very tedious to have every sentence either preceded or followed with “John said” I don’t feel like the story flows as well with all the abrupt pauses after saying the word.
Possibly this would not bother me as much if I was reading it rather than listening. When reading, I find myself embellishing with other words for “said”
There are so many interesting words that will update work and make the descriptions of conversations. For example: exclaimed, cried, shouted, whispered, replied, commented. This is the reason that a Thesaurus exists!
I have been trying hard to finish this but…..

The character development and balance was superb and the storyline was unique and enthralling. Masterfully executed with only a few minor missteps. I'm hooked and will gladly purchase the remaining series
Surprisingly good
