Tesla called it his Death Ray. Before he died he hid the secret to his super weapon in an engraving sent to his illegitimate grand daughter. Now, decades later, a black ops group using HAARP technology to employ their version of his weapon, is close to discovering the secret frequency. So is a competing Russian science cabal that has tested their own system and caused deadly earthquakes. Both realize using the wrong frequency could destroy the Earth but the attractive power of the penultimate death ray is too enticing.
When a hapless Canadian CSIS agent, John Mason, trips upon the American black ops plans to recover the engraving, he reluctantly gets involved trying to protect Tesla's great-granddaughter from becoming a victim in their hunt. He's must dodge a ruthless Russian agent and his psychotic American black ops counterpart to keep her safe.
The stakes are deadly as both of the hunters come ever closer to discovering Tesla's secret. The agents are both willing to do whatever is necessary to win the race for Tesla's super weapon and Mason is pinned in the middle. When he learns the Americans plan to test their weapon despite knowing Tesla's true frequency, he's forced into a game with deadly stakes.
Does he stop them and what could be a catastrophic test or does he lie low with Janice and pray the scientist who predicted pending disaster from the test will be wrong? Does he save the girl or save the world? For Mason, an overweight and inexperienced secret agent, the choice is less obvious than anyone could expect.
This is the first action thriller in the Mason series.
