Sadly, the narrator is too rushed to actually narrate the story let alone set the mood and tone. It’s unfortunate since this is such a great story and book series that it deserves a better narration to allow the listener to settle in and enjoy this awesome world.

I've read this book many times and love it. The parts left out I found quite jarring. Many of the parts left out don't make any sense to me.

The missing parts really bothered me

I’ve probably read this book a hundred times, and I love the series. But the performer typecast every one after the wicked witch of the west from “Oz”. At times, if I hadn’t known who was speaking, I would have been left in the dark. Would love to obtain the rest of the series, but will wait to see who will tell me a story instead of reading a book.

This is one of my all-time favorite series. My main criticism is that I had to slow the narration down to .8 in order to enjoy it, otherwise it sounded as if Alvin of the Chipmunks was narrating - not a pleasant experience.

Loved the story, can’t wait to read the balance of the Pern books, some of which I have in Paperback and hard cover.

Love the story and the great build up to future stories

The narrator spoke faster than was comfortable, she sounded rushed the entire time, like she had too much coffee or something. I read this book a long time ago, but even though it's been a while, the were sections and dialogue cut out, which really rubbed me the wrong way.

I don't like abridged books they don't make sense to me. I should have realized it by the time frame I didn't see anywhere that it was abridged

The worst performance ever. It was as if she couldn't wait to get thru it and be done with it. not a good reading at all.
