Louise Jameson reads this classic novelisation of a Fourth Doctor TV adventure featuring Leela and K9

Louise Jameson, who played Leela in the BBC series, reads Terrance Dicks’s unabridged novelisation of the 1977 TV adventure by Robert Holmes, starring Tom Baker as the Doctor.

One reason I am glad to have an Audible subscription is that I can access these BBC Doctor Who audio releases the day they become available. No waiting for CDs to arrive and no wasted space for the piles and piles of CDs I would otherwise have to store somewhere.

This latest release is (obviously) from the Fourth Doctor Era. While it would be fantastic if they could have gotten him to narrate it, this is a close second as this release is narrated by Louise Jameson (Leela) with John Leeson as the voice of K9. Other than that, what more is there to say? The novelizations are a different take on the original TV episodes as they are able to expand and flesh out what was available with the original script. Even back then the most you might get was a six part episode which would come out to about two hours. This audio version is three and a half hours, which is a big improvement over what they would have been able to do on TV. Plus no cheesy effects with the audio version. :)

So far as Fourth Doctor Audio Releases go, as of Feb 2019 there are two on the horizon to keep an eye on:
Warrior's Gate: ETA-ish 04/04/2019
Armageddon Factor: ETA-ish 06/06/2019

Trivia: Warrior's Gate is the last of the E-Space trilogy to get an audio release.
Armageddon Factor is a Key To Time Episode.
