I love this author and really liked the story, but I didn’t care for the political (woke agenda as it would be known as) interjections. I’d prefer reading (listening) to stories free from social agendas.

The narrator saves this one. I didn't get as deeply into the story as I did her first in the series. Sideline: I was amused by the little editing gaffes when the narrator repeated a sentence that she hadn't spoken in the way she wanted to... shines a light on the narration process.

Good story; overall good performance. MANY editing errors where lines are repeated, read with different intonations. The editors likely rushed through and did not delete the marked passages. Anyway, still a good story although I wouldn’t have been pleased if it hadn’t been a free selection. Quality control matters!

loved the 2nd book as much as the 1st. Hannah is a crafty and smart woman.

This is the second and probably last book I read from this series . The story is well developed but, again, like in the other book, way too often the main character is either on the verge of throwing up or is actually doing that which becomes a bit ridiculous.

Well written

Hannah whines, faints, and pukes at the least provocation. She is a perpetual victim, at her job, in her relationship, etc, etc. We are supposed to believe that this vapid, self-absorbed woman is a mystery solving, brilliant reporter/writer. Everything falls into her lap, and she still can't get it together.

The narrator has a beautiful speaking voice, but doesn't vary with characters, and puts a strange, song-song inflection on "HanNAH" whenever someone addresses the character. In her defense, no amount of skill or talent from the narrator could save this book.

I can understand why people have them because of narrator she was fine until she had to do character voices. I especially noticed it at around Ch 8/9?
Up until then I wasn’t sure why they thought it was so bad, until I was. It was pretty bad. The guys voice sounded like it should have been the main characters voice to which he was talking. And the inflection’s whoa…even worse.
So why does the story get the highest stars? Because it could have been good even with the narrator if only she had read the book and tried not to be an actress—only a reader.
The story is one that has a purpose that’s worthy and I hope even despite this narration will either “read” it or listen her forewarned.

I've enjoyed the first 2 books by this Author. She lead you on one a hell of a ride.
I hope she writes more books. For these first 2 books become a series

Powerful Action and storyline

The first book in this series was excellent so I was very much looking forward to this one. It was simply not as good. I found the entire story hard to follow and the ending didn’t clear it all up at all. The loose ends from the first book were left hanging and I still only have only a vague idea what the actual motivations were for the major events that took place. It seemed like the entire story was Hannah fearful of unknown threats from unknown sources for reasons that never went into much depth. The narration was excellent. I will try another in the series and hope this was just a glitch.

I enjoyed the first book in this series but liked this one even more. It amazing how many people are killed as a result of the sex traffic organization Hannah's friend Caroline was investigating. Such a horrific practice that was discovered. Although this is the 2nd in a series, it could be read as a stand alone story. It's just better to start off with "Dancers In The Wind" first.

Hannah continues to investigate why Caroline was killed and what she had uncovered. Bodies are dropping all around and Hannah needs answers before she is the next victim. However, I wish Hannah wasn't fainting or getting sick every time she runs into something shocking. Good story.
