Old gods die hard.
Professional necromancer Lazarus Kerrigan knows all too well that the Big Easy is anything but. Crime is up, business is down, and someone--or something--crushed an innocent girl to death on his doorstep.
After the search for the murderer brings the police to his front door, Laz must prove his innocence by hauling in the real killer with help from the dead.
When the sun sets in New Orleans, more than monsters go bump in the night... And what Laz awakens in his quest for answers might just get him--and everyone else in town--killed.

This book is well written and is very entertaining.
This is very much like the Dresden files except it's a different kind of magic. Although if you're religious ghosts aren't real since the bible says the dead know not anything much like a rock knows nothing. if you read about Lazarus carefully from the Bible you will recognize this again about the dead not knowing anything. Jesus says that Lazarus is asleep and since Jesus said clearly Lazarus is dead again when his disciples questioned him about Lazarus being asleep. With my religion its believed speaking to the dead is speaking to one of the devil's angels you know those guys that were cast out of heaven and it's a big Sham to fool humans since the dead are gone until they are raised up on the last day as the bible says. Speaking to the devil or his friends isn't a good idea, considering if you can think of the worst crime then they helped encourage and corrupt the person so, they the fallen, aren't fussy friendly individuals and are in reality incredibly evil and wish to lead people astray with entertainment to well anything that automatically distracts from being saved to the planet called heaven.
Well back to the book, although it's entertaining it's facts in my opinion are almost none existent.
Chapter 18
12 minutes in he says boods and not booths. I know some people that speak other languages have trouble. Is your main Language French?

The story was good. Good pace and tightly written, i wish it was longer. Dialogue is funny and witty and i laughed out loud a few times.
Hesitated at first but turned out to be wonderful

Story, at first when you read about him finding the body, you think it would be cut and dry... then you read on and strip clubs, and cemeteries... death gods and there lackeys... gods of the land, cults, statues of winged penis's, fae....the list goes on and on. The story becomes it's own thing and draws you in.slowly but surely... This poor necro wizard can never catch a break... but in the end he will have to make a choice... one that would make him a target until his dying days... will he do it or deny and run... if this intrigues you then get this story... I doubt you will regret it.
