Acerca de esta escucha

Nearly two decades have passed since the fall of the United States. And the rise of the church to fill the void. Nearly 20 years since Ian Sumner lost his father. And the dead took to the streets to dine on the living. Now Ian and a lost band of survivors are trapped in the wilderness, miles from safety. Pursued by madmen and monsters, they unravel the secrets of the plague...and walk the line of heresy. Ian and this troop need to do more than just survive. More than ever, they must learn to live.

What did you love best about Dead Things?

The writing is solid and the tempo is balanced and held my attention; I wanted to know what happens to the characters. While this is not my usual genre the story held my interest. The author weaves scientific background into the storyline in a reader friendly manner; the humorous subtleties are engaging and there is good use of suspense without the suspension of disbelief.

What other book might you compare Dead Things to and why?

The style and approach reminds me of Robin Cook's work; exploring a scientific anamoly through a possible extension.

Which character – as performed by Michael Riffle – was your favorite?

Hard to single one out as he brought color and life to each but I was interested in both Van and Bert. My initial impression of both changed as the story unfolded.

Any additional comments?

It was a good listen. The story engaged me throughout and that surprised me.

Surprisingly engaging
