Days of Wine and COVID: Fifty-Seven Stories of Pandemic Proportions is a collection of amusing, short essays about the early months of COVID-19. It focuses on personal and universal experiences as we all try to stay healthy, solvent, and sane in this time of uncertainty and peril. It’s about finding the humor in the new circumstances that have befallen us. The stories are in chronological order, beginning with the onset of coronavirus in February 2020 and ending in June 2020, a period that has changed our lives forever.
When everything seems to be flying out of control - because it is! - what do people do? We look to establish a new normal. While most of us continue to socially distance, mask up, wash our hands, educate our kids, and keep our houses from falling down, how do we maintain our sense of composure, humanity, and purpose?
Essentially, we mustn’t forget to recognize the absurdity of it all.
