Conversational Spanish: Intermediate Collection Three

All lessons are in audio format, and use subtle repetition and meaningful associations to maximize retention of new information. Each collection consists of conversations about common topics, ranging from work scenarios to current events, leisure activities, and travel. Each statement in a conversation is first narrated in English, then spoken by native voice actors in a variety of Mexican, European, Central, and Southern American Spanish accents. Time is provided after each statement for you to repeat aloud and hone your pronunciation.

More guided oral and pronunciation practice, just like the first two. The vocabulary seems to be getting a little more specialized, and the sentence structures are getting longer. I found I was able to keep up with them just as well though.

Very similar to the first two books in the series.

Become better listener

Who was your favorite character and why?

The characters are actually kind of cheesy, but in a cute way. They're not very important to the purpose of the lessons, they just make it easier to understand the context.

What about Eric Fallah’s performance did you like?

Rich voice and easy to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I prefer to listen to only one lesson at a time on my way to work, then sometimes I'll repeat it on the way home. I've found I remember more when I repeat some lessons.

Any additional comments?

I'm on my third book now in this series, and I notice I can understand my cousins better when they talk to each other in Spanish (they speak very fast). I'm quickly getting a better ear for "real spoken Spanish."
