Winner of the 2023 Indies Today Best Horror Award!
"The bastard son of Bradbury and Evenson, Michael Jess Alexander isn't playing games. His latest collection is lean, mean and weird in brilliant fashion. To skip this would be a huge mistake." (Robert P. Ottone, author of Nocturnal Creatures, Her Infernal Name & Other Nightmares, and The Vile Thing We Created)
"In this collection, Michael Jess Alexander strays from the usual haunts, leaving the cemeteries and haunted houses for those with more mundane imaginations to play in. The stories presented here encompass a more mature form of terror, extracted from the farthest reaches of space and the deepest pits of hell. Prepare to have your nerves rattled, along with your grip on sanity, as you plunge through the cracks in reality to face the horrors conjured here for you." (Lamont A. Turner, author of Souls in a Blender)
In this short story collection, award-winning writer Michael Jess Alexander serves up a morbid menagerie of aliens, cultists, murderers, and more.
"Trapdoors" depicts a world plagued by a bizarre, seemingly lethal phenomenon.
In "The Screaming Void," a betrayal of trust causes a teen to suffer unfortunate consequences.
A youth struggles to control a terrifying, newfound power in "Away Game."
These and other tales make up this work of imaginative horror prose.

Author:
Make no mistake, this is a collection of short stories. They aren't gruesome or gory but they will make you say, "huh" or "whoa" as you listen to them. They are short and get to the point. I like the authors style. They are detailed without being too wordy. Overall a fun read and I'll certainly look for other stories from this author.
Narrator:
I've listened books narrated by Jonathan Sleep before. It was actually one of the reasons why I decided to listen to this one. I love his narration and he did not disappoint. He has great voices and adds little embellishments throughout the reading. I will continue to look for books narrated by him going forward.
A Good Collection of Short Stories
