Little do they know that America’s arch enemies are employing similar foreign equipment to build a site on a mountain top in South Africa, a non-participant in the PARIS Accord, and a non-extradition country. One group seeks to save the planet from asteroids. The other group seeks to destroy its enemies here on Earth ‘By Other Means’ employing a laser to steer a near-Earth Object (NEO) asteroid into a particular location on the planet! Their plan is to splash a ‘City-Killer’ asteroid into the Pacific Ocean just off the California coast and thereby destroy much of southern California with tsunamis, crippling the United States. Will their war ‘By Other Means’ succeed? Will JR and Sophia be able to activate and operate their Planetary Defense System in sufficient time to prevent disaster? Perhaps, but perhaps not! Today NASA has nothing to stop an NEO from colliding with Earth. Will their mega-powered two-of-a-kind laser tracking system, mounted high atop Mauna Kea Hawaii, be enough? Will JR and Sophia be able to steer the killer asteroid away from Earth in time once the enemy has sent it careening toward the Pacific Ocean off of Southern California? Follow this nail biting, highly suspenseful story to its ultimate apocryphal conclusion! This could really happen today!
