This novella is a short and sweet friends to lovers story that is beautifully written. This story reminds us that all the money and success in the world doesn’t necessarily make you happy. In fact it can sometimes make you incredibly lonely.
Two young boys fell in love but wanted to make a name for themselves in the world. One with his music and the other with his writing. Nico knew from the beginning that King would be famous someday. Despite their love for each other he knew they were headed in different directions.
King loved Nico but was driven to write and sing. In his youth he felt compelled to achieve success no matter what it took...or so he thought.

This book is a true life lessons story. Achieving success come with a lot of responsibility that may ask you to sacrifice the things that truly mean the most in life. King had to ask himself is that sacrifice really worth it? I really enjoyed getting to know both character’s. This narrator is new to me but I think he brought the characters to life beautifully. I give this story a 4 and the performance a 4.5

I loved it!! I have a weakness for second chances and I was admittedly a little nervous about how she was going to pull off the balance needed for this in a shorter book but she managed to pull it off fantastically. I loved their back story and they were so sweet together. You could really feel the connection and love.

This is such a sweet second chance at love! King and Nico are so sweet together. This is definitely a sweet story that I just needed to listen to right now. Michael Fox does such a beautiful job with this narration. He definitely brings these characters and story to life. I love listening to this story!

Second chances are my automatic byu, absolute favourite trope, and previous books from Teodora Kostova have always been a hit with me. So I decided I would listen to this one. And I am so glad I did!
This is exactly the kind of sweet, comforting book you need to read when you want to wrap yourself up in a cozy blanket and relax.
King and Nico are sweet characters, they never stopped loving each other even when they decided to go their separate way as they were younger, it was just their circumstances separating them, not the lack of love.
And as soon as his circumstances change, King does everything in his power to have his Nico back in his life!

After nearly 10 years apart a world known rockstar and is just making a name for himself ex are pushed back together.
It’s a really sweet with a bit of angst romance.
The narrator did well and most of the time I know how was talking and thinking what.
This was a really pleasant happy listen.

So, this is probably going to be a pretty short review because the audiobook itself was fairly short. The beginning of the story is bittersweet watching the two young men fall for each other. Because of a two-year age gap, after high school, King leaves his hometown early just as Nico and he admits to feelings beyond friendship. They actually make the long distance relationship work until Nico heads to uni/college and eventually King's big break happens. I thought they were a sweet young couple but sometimes happy ever afters are meant to wait and be worked for.

Ten years later, King requests Nico to be the journalist who interviews him. I could feel for King who had had a solid career, but never seemed to have enjoyed his fame or money in all that time. His long needed break opens up a chance that he hopes will lead to rekindling a relationship with Nico.

Even though Nico's POV is explored in this book, I didn't feel like I had as much of a glimpse of his feelings as I did King's. It isn't quite an easy road for them because Nico does seem to resent that King never contacted him in all those years and now expects to connect again. I am not sure how I felt about that because the phone works both ways, but I also could understand his hesitancy at trying to contact the busy rock star.

What I did get out of this story was a pretty sweet romance. I thought it was good, though like any shorter story or novella, I did wish there were more. I would have liked to see their relationship develop further and to have had more insight into Nico. It didn't stop me from enjoying the story for what it was, sweet and short. The narrator was new to me, but I enjoyed his voice and thought he did a great job. I look forward to listening to more from the author and the narrator.

I really loved this book. It had so much heart. A rally good feel book. Even if some tears slipped out towards the end it made my insides feel real good! The narrator was new for me and he was really good!! totally 5 star on everything!

Two boys who find each other in school soon begin to lose each other as life takes them in different directions. Nico and King are young and in love but as they chase their dreams life begins to get in the way. Can the two ever find their happy ever after or will they always be the one that got away?

This is a sweet and emotional story that will pull on your heart and have you hoping for love to win. The love between Nico and King is so strong you can feel it as you listen to their story. Their feelings never wane and made for a beautiful story. These two men endeared themselves quickly to this listener. As the men find their way in life they must decide if their dreams are truly what they want and are worth the loss. This story is well written with characters that have depth and emotions. It has just the right amount of angst for these men and only adds to their story. Narrator Michael Fox does a wonderful job of bringing Nico and King to life. I quickly became engrossed in their story and felt their emotions as I listened.

Wow!! This book was so beautiful, romantic, dreamy and emotional. I felt like I was floating through the galaxy in another world utterly absorbed in the story between Nico and King. The butterfly wishes were perfect, so freaking perfect and completely made me swoon, especially when they were on the island, amazing reference! This whole book was exceptional from the beginning to end. I adored the second chance young love, sigh... I want so much more!! I can't wait to see if Gavin will get his happily ever after as well. My heart is so full!! Michael fox was flawless in his narration, he completely captured my attention and entangled my emotions around Nico and King. I felt every word and expression of what they were going through! Michael is so talented! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
