Acerca de esta escucha

Known by his troops in World War II as "The GI General" because of his close identification with the men under his command, Omar Bradley commanded the U.S. Twelfth Army Group in Europe. By the spring of 1945, this group contained four field armies, 12 corps, 48 divisions, and more than 1,300,000 men, the largest exclusively American field command in U.S. history.

A mild mannered man, General Bradley created the impression less of a soldier than of a teacher, which he was during much of his early career in the Army. He earned a reputation as an eminent tactician and rose through the ranks to become a five-star general.

Although it is a short biography of Bradley, he is given the attention that is deserved for his man of the people approach. His keen awareness of the importance towards progressive infantry tactics and combined arms approaches are brought forward in the biography giving context to his performance during the Second World War.

A Hidden Gem

I thoroughly enjoyed this biography because it touched upon his younger self and concentrated on his military career and it’s affect on war and the future of the military.

Insightful

This is a typical well researched paper that does a very food job of pointing out the importance of the man Bradley. I enjoyed it very much but as I listened to it I wanted the author to give me more details about the conflicts that existed between the allied Generals, ie Patton, Ike Montgmery. The author does a very nice job of taking us through Bradleys career and brings out many points that are not generally known about the man. Well written and interesting, I recommend it to young military officers and NCO's, here is a man that can be a model for excellent leadership.

this great story brings to the for front one of the best generals of world war II. My father served under him and was his body guard in Luxembourg. Bradley is one of the most underrated generals but was extremely capable. He was the calm, collect to Patton's hurry up and move. He was a good soldier and a good man. rare items to find in a warrior. strongly recommend.

An amazing story

Before listening to this book I knew who Bradley was, but I had no idea about his legacy in restructuring the U. S. military in the post WW II era.

It is commonly said that military leadership prepares to fight the last war, but it sounds like General Bradley, institutionalist that he was, knew he had to break that mold and did his best to do so. Hopefully his forward looking, flexible way of thinking still inhabits the halls of the Pentagon today.

Interesting

This book creates an excellent picture of a soldier's general. A leader passionate about his men. Not a brilliant tactician or with a feel for war like Patton, but an intelligent and talented general.

Great picture created

A quick summary of Omar Bradley. Not very in-depth but solid information and plus it’s a free book.
