Would you listen to Born of the Ashes again? Why?

Very complicated battle descriptions. Need to hear several times to visualize better. Also will miss several characters who were lost in battle.

What about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance did you like?

His inflexions to illustrate the excitement and the emotion of the quotations.

Going to try and leave this generic review for all of the books... call me lazy. That said, this is an incredible series, I was afraid I wouldn't find something good after the Black Fleet Saga and Honor Harrington, but then I got into this gem. I loved it all!

Oh my God, such a roller coaster of emotions and excitement until the very end. I normally wait and listen to an hour during my commutes, but I couldn't wait and listened over the weekend at home, and I'll listen again to the last 3 chapters during my commute this week.

Is it possible this is the best yet?

Where does Born of the Ashes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I listen to most if not all the great space opera series on audible and this to me really is the best series, starting from the first book in this series each book gets better and better.

What did you like best about this story?

I really like how Ryk Brown builds his story from the beginning of the book to an always dramatic conclusion, the tensions slowly builds and even though each book is part of a series and unlike many other books in a series you always feel satisfied with where the book ended while still looking forward for the next book to see where it all leads to. Very strong character development throughout the series I really care about the characters.

What about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance did you like?

Kafer is fantastic well beyond average he is perfect for this series.

Born of the Ashes is an incredible story of battle. If you're looking for the politics that have been involved with this series periodically, just skim this one. Nothing but battles and fighting. Can't wait to see what happens next!

good book. the problem is the narrator. He fails miserably to differentiate voices of characters and during non-dialogue sections he whumbles (whisper mumbles) making it hard to hear

It's been a while since I read book 10 and it took me a while to place the characters in a number of cases. But once I was back into the flow the story moved along quickly and was as enjoyable as the rest of the series.

I have enjoyed every book in the series so far. I put it on in the car and listened to this whole book while driving to a holiday celebration.
