The first story by Mary Balogh was by far my favorite. It had romance, intrigue. Mystery and descriptive characters with excellent narration. She was the reason I bought this book in the first place and she didn’t disappoint. I would read it again and would love to read more if it was a series on its own.

The second story about vampires was seemingly written for teens. It was g rated, predictable and boring. The characters were summed up in a neat bow and they had very little depth to them. The topic was interesting and the scene was good but the story was very short and it ended too quickly. Actually I was just happy it ended.

The third story was read so fast by the reader, I felt my heart racing just listening to it. Breathe already I kept thinking. The mothers voice didn’t annoy me as much as I have read it did in reviews by other listeners. It reminded me of mommy dearest. It was ok but also ended so quickly and I was left still trying to piece it all together with some questions unanswered which I was disappointed with.

Th fourth story about a witch who runs a dating service for vampires, elves and other creatures was well written and read. There was an annoying character who was constantly speaking in incomplete phrases hyperventilating but the narrator read her very well. It was my second favorite of the lot and I would consider reading another book by this author. The topic was unique at least to my experience and the characters were well rounded.

Overall, I am glad I read them all. It is good to try new things. My favorite was the first story. I would buy the Mary Balogh one on its own for sure. It’s worth the 1 credit by itself. But the fact that all the authors contributed to this body of work was very cool and should be done more often.

Four for one good deal

I liked some of these stories better than others. I’m not a huge fantasy or paranormal fan so that could be why. It was imaginative in some ways but I think some of the stories just didn’t translate into other times and paranormal genre. Just my opinion though

Some are better than others

Hello,

Being an Austen fan and a lover of Mary Balogh i purchased this audio file. It was great!. The stories i like the most though were the last two by Susan Krinard and Janet Mullany.

If you are an Austen fan you will love these

I did love all of these, but my Blood and Prejudice skipped a little... maybe a weird download or an abridged version?

whoa!!!

The first story was great, I love Mary Balogh, the second story was interesting if you like vampires, but I couldn't get past the first 5 minutes of the 3rd story due to the narrator literally yelling. I turned it down but that just didn't help at all. So.. I didn't get to see if the 3rd book was any good, and just shut it off. Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend part 3 of this book at all.

First two stories were good, then had to shut off

If you are a fan of Jane Austin and magic u will enjoy These stories. Some of the reviews said the pride and prejudice narrator was annoying but it’s really only the 1st 10 because she was trying to be the annoying mother in my opinion. She is annoying lol. But it turns out to be soo great and u don’t want to miss it ! I really enjoyed all them. North hangar might be my favorite but hard to decide Pride and Blood was VERY GOOD

I REALLY ENJOYED All these BOOKs

The stories were pretty good, I actually thought Mary Balogh’s was the weakest and sappiest. Usually I love her stories so I was surprised. I liked the modern twist on Austen and the supernatural twist is fun.

Four stories, four authors, four narrators

Had I realized that these were "romance" stories I would not have wasted my money. While the reader has a pleasant voice she mispronounced many words which tends to take the shine off the performance.

Very,very sappy and verbose.
