"Night night sleep tight. Don't let the bedbugs bite" a phrase I am confident that most of us heard at least once during our childhood. Hell, we've probably said it to our own kids! But Bedbugs aren't simply the nasty little bugs who consume our dead cells that slough off in the covers anymore. Their queens hunger is growing, and they are on a mission to supply her with flesh.
This isn't your average horror story. It's unique and witty. I honestly had a great time listening to this audiobook. The narrator is fantastic. There are a lot of characters constantly moving in and out of the story, and he did a phenomenal job voicing them all with a variety of accents and tones.
The only thing I struggled with initially was Lee's writing style. It flows a lot like a screenplay for a movie, which is fine, and given his background makes perfect sense. I could easily see this novel translate beautifully into a movie. And if that ever happens... I AM SO HERE FOR IT!
If you like your horror bloody and full of gore but don't mind splashes of humor, this would probably be a great book for you to read. I honestly recommend it and am sad to see that this book hasn't gotten the love it deserves. Since none of us will be sleeping peacefully anymore, there are no reasons left to sleep on this novel.
