Jessica Almasy did an outstanding job with her narration, she certainly brought the story to life for me.
It was great to be back in Papillon, Louisiana also known as Butterfly Bayou. Ms.Blake’s writing is so descriptive that I could easily imagine myself in the Bayou. Papillon is a quirky community full of characters that are fun and entertaining, add in the town’s wandering alligator Otis and you know you are in for a wild ride.
Sylvie Martine and Rene Darois are in the spotlight this time and their story was a a great addition to the Butterfly Bayou series. Sylvie is the mayor of Papillon and the last thing she wants or needs is Rene to make an appearance back in her life and turn it upside down.
These two have a past and when the unthinkable happens and he needs a wife in a hurry he turns to his high school girlfriend for help. He always planned to go after her again so this is the perfect opportunity, or is it? Can Rene convince Sylvie to take another chance on love with him?
It is is obvious to everyone around them that the connection that is between them is deep, but Sylvie has been hurt in the past and doesn’t want to let Rene back in. However she doesn't count on his determination and what follows is a a journey that the readers will quickly become invested in .
As always the quirky people of Papillon become involved and that led to some humorous scenes that had me laughing out loud on occasion. A well written, emotional, witty story that will draw you in and leave you wanting more

This is such a great series, and I forget how much I adore it until I start listening again! I do love all things Cajun, and this book has those tastes of LA there. The name Rene' and French, the Bayou, just all.of it is heaven! Jessica Almasy does a superb job of narrating, and I highly recommend it you'd like to get that full LA feel!!! Thank you Lexi Blake!!!❤

This series just gets better! I love how the lives of this small town intertwine and we get such depth to these characters.

I laugh out loud, roll my eyes, and try not to cry with Lexi’s books. This one is no exception!

Keep the Butterfly Bayou series coming!!!

I love being back in Papillon, Louisiana, this small town is so quaint and you can't help but falling in love with everyone that lives there. I have been looking forward to getting Mayor Sylvie Martine's story for a while and I am so happy that she has finally gotten her HEA.

Sylvie had been crushing on her brothers best friend for years but when Rene Darois proposed marriage to her she's not sure what to think, especially after he let her go in college. I enjoyed the way this story played out, not only did I enjoy watching the way Sylvie and Rene's relationship developed into what each of them had always wanted but with the story of his family business as well. There had been so many secrets kept and backstabbing done you really don't know who to trust. This wasn't only a great second chance romance this was a great romantic suspense..

I have been a fan of Lexi Blake's for many years now, it all started with her Masters and Mercenaries Series which is high on suspense and BDSM, this series is very different but it still has the signature Lexi Blake writing which draws you in and has you hanging on every word. I love this small-town Romance Series and I hope we have more books to come.

If you listen to audiobooks Jessica Almasy did a wonderful job with the narration of this book and I would definitely recommend you listening to this one.

These characters are hysterical. They are complex, lovable and goofy. I hope there will be more.

Sylvia and Rene have been friends for years. Sure she had a crush on him when they were younger, but he was her brother’s best friend. It was never going to work out..she’s moved on. Who would have thought years later he would come through town looking to marry her so he can save his company and get his family off his back.

Rene always knew he would marry Sylvie. He gave her years to grow and make something of herself. Sure life got in the way, but when he needed a marriage to satisfy his meddling family, he knew exactly where to go. To the one woman he always knew he would marry.

What a great story. Poor Rene was born into privilege but with that came a lot of responsibility that he didn’t want nor asked for. He was saddled with an ungrateful group of family members hell bent on ruining the company his father brought into the modern wealth they all enjoy. He is constantly the scapegoat for what’s wrong in anyone’s life and it’s finally getting to him. When he hits rock bottom, he has Sylvie beside him to help in manage the stress but also finally step into how he sees himself.

I swear Pappion gets better and better with each story.

As with the other books in the series, it is a slice of small town life with everyone knowing your business. It has LOL moments. It also shows the need fir some work-life balance and the power of forgiveness.
