The small dusty Texas community of Bartlett Plains had a new principal of the high school.
Jack Morgan had been brought in from Oklahoma to take the position.
And right away he fell for the school office secretary Polly Benjamin. The wedding that had taken place over the Thanksgiving weekend had been the social event of the rural community.
