Acerca de esta escucha
On June 22nd, 2025, Tommy Fleetwood's brilliant 63 vaulted him to a three-shot lead at the Travelers Championship after Round 3, while overnight co-leaders Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas faltered significantly.
- Tommy Fleetwood carded a stunning 7-under 63, highlighted by playing his final four holes in 5-under with two eagles, to grab a three-shot lead in his quest for a maiden PGA TOUR win.
- "It's all a learning experience...I haven't been in contention much at all this year," Fleetwood admitted, despite hitting 14/14 fairways.
- He credited overcoming recent swing issues ("I felt like I lost my swing last week") and new equipment, with his family as his "biggest supporters."
- Russell Henley fired a spectacular 9-under 61, attributing it to his "focus...on discipline," while New England native Keegan Bradley shot a 63, energized by local "USA! USA! USA!" chants.
- Bradley predicts for Sunday: "you´re going to have to shoot something at least in the mid sixties."
- Reflecting on his unique Ryder Cup captaincy, Bradley said, "I'm experiencing something that not a lot of people have."
- Scottie Scheffler's 29th birthday turned sour with a 2-over 72, featuring a 1st hole triple bogey ("all ball" bunker shot) and an 8th hole double, prompting a commentator's remark: "And that right there is golf, isn't it?".
- Justin Thomas struggled to a 3-over 73, marred by a quadruple bogey 9 on the 13th where he also threw his driver.
- Thomas issued two apologies for his driver toss.
- Taylor Pendrith and Adam Scott both blazed to 8-under 62s, with Pendrith citing "nicer weather conditions," while Viktor Hovland, Aaron Rai, and Matt Fitzpatrick all posted 63s.
- TPC River Highlands (course average 68) offered scoring chances but also peril, like the drivable 15th: "This one can get you."
- Jason Day sits solo 4th; Rory McIlroy trails by nine.
