In the sacred pages of Scripture, a command echoes to every Christian, and the command is this: Conquer to the glory of God. This divine mandate, woven throughout God’s special revelation in Scripture, demands believers to triumph over the world, the flesh, and the devil—forces that oppose Christ, His people, and His kingdom. The charge to conquer is not optional but a command, delivered with divine authority and accompanied by promises of eternal reward. In the letters to the seven churches in Revelation 2 and 3, Christ Himself emphasizes this imperative, speaking to every believer across all ages and traditions. To the one who conquers, He pledges extraordinary blessings: the right to eat from the tree of life in the paradise of God (Revelation 2:7), protection from the second death (Revelation 2:11), the gift of hidden manna and a white stone bearing a new name (Revelation 2:17), authority over the nations to rule with a rod of iron (Revelation 2:26–27), a place as a pillar in the temple of God (Revelation 3:12), and the supreme honor of sitting with Him on His throne (Revelation 3:21). These promises underscore the profound significance of the Christian’s call to victory. Each of these promises has the prerequisite “to the one who conquers.”

Yet beneath this summons to conquer lies a foundational truth, one that forms the heart of this book: He conquers who conquers himself. True victory begins not on the external battlefields of the world or in the cosmic struggle against demonic forces, but within the inner landscape of the body and soul. To conquer for God’s glory, you have to first labor to master your own mind, will, affections, and body. If you will not conquer yourself, you will never conquer the world, the flesh, nor the devil.
