Acerca de esta escucha
Welcome to another episode of Pivot with Passion! I’m Penny Casselman, and today we’re diving into the art of getting more of what you want—no manipulation required. In this episode, we unpack the powerful difference between persuasion and manipulation, exploring how true persuasion is rooted in empathy, respect, and collaboration. I’ll share why emotional connection is the real secret sauce to influencing those around you—whether you’re pitching a project at work, motivating your kids, or simply wanting to rearrange your living room.
You’ll hear my favorite strategy for mastering persuasion with the "Three A’s": acknowledge, amplify, and affect, plus a dose of wisdom from Zig Ziglar to keep you motivated this week. Get ready for actionable tips you can use every day to bring others along with you towards your dreams, all while staying true to your values. So grab your favorite beverage—and maybe even a red marker—and join me as we shake things up and learn how to pivot with passion!

STRATEGIES INSIDE THE PODCAST
Strategies you can use to help you strengthen and flex your PERSUASION muscle and move you towards success!
Let’s keep it easy to remember: Acknowledge, Amplify, Affect.
- Acknowledge
Start by recognizing their reality.
→ “I know you’ve got a lot on your plate right now…”
This builds trust and shows you’re not simply focused on your outcome. - Amplify
Paint a picture of what’s possible for them.
→ “Imagine how much smoother things could run if…”
This stirs motivation by tying your ask to something meaningful or rewarding for them—either internally (joy, growth, ease) or externally (recognition, reward). - Affect
People move when they feel.
→ Share a quick story, use a passionate tone, or connect the dots emotionally.
→ “When we pulled this off last time, you were lit up—let’s recreate that.”
