  • A wise king has a mysterious last meal served to him in secret each night. A servant takes a peek one day and sees a white snake. He can’t help himself and as soon as he touches a bite with his tongue, he begins to hear the conversations of birds, which relates all they’ve seen. One day the queen loses her ring and the servant, who has all-access, is accused and will be put to death if he doesn’t find it. At a pond, he overhears a duck saying she swallowed the ring, and he has the butcher slaughter her. He takes the ring to the apologetic king, who lets him travel the world with a horse and money.
