That milestone prompted him to wonder what lessons he had learned over the course of his life that would have been helpful to know when he was in university. This short essay describes three simple lessons that might assist students today in surviving their university years. There is so much negative press about how universities have become indoctrination centers rather than institutes of learning that prospective college students should also carefully consider whether to bother wasting their parents' money on university. Unless you want to join a profession where university is required, it might be wiser to save the money and get out in the work force immediately. Hard work and trustworthiness will propel you to success. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Donald W. Desaulniers is a retired Canadian attorney who resides in the picturesque small city of Belleville, Ontario with his lovely British wife, Jane and their cat, Charlie. Donald has penned more than 125 novels since his retirement in 2009.
