The author, a native Australian, covers everything you might want to know about Australia - guaranteed! The places to stay in every part of the country, from budget to luxury, rentals to B&Bs; the restaurants, from fast food to the highest quality; the beach walks and bush walks; the wildlife and how to see it; and exploring the country by air, on water, by bike, and every other way. New South Wales is a candy store of adventure possibilities. Favorite short-term excursions include scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, and boating as well as ocean and river kayaking and whitewater rafting. On land you can tackle park trails by foot, horse, mountain bike, or four-wheel drive. Other options include mountain climbs, cave mazes, desert wanderings, and historic Aboriginal sites and settlements. Sydney is the main gateway to everything in Australia.

This is perhaps the worst audiobook I have ever listened to. The format of an audiobook does not lend itself well to things like telephone numbers and email addresses every 30 seconds. The narrator drones on with this information which should be included elsewhere on a website or something rather than interrupting the flow of useful information. But that is not my only consideration.

The narrator often mispronounce is Australian words (what better use of an audiobook for travel them to know how to pronounce foreign words).

Finally, there are numerous errors in the book. Considering the copyright date of this book, I find it interesting that there is mention of flights from the Soviet Union but, most interestingly is when the author speaks of the "dingo fence" and, correctly states that is the longest such fence in the world but, is wildly inaccurate she talks of an 83,000 mile long fence (the actual fence is just under 3500 miles). Did the author not realize that the earth circumference is only 25000 miles?
