One teacher is missing without a trace, is Etta next?
In the dark shadow of the Great War, Miss Etta Lynne applies for a job teaching at a small-town high school to support her struggling family. Can she persevere when she faces discrimination and sinister secrets? What happened to the teacher before her? An engrossing historical mystery novel that’s first in a series!
Uncover a dark secret, expose a scandalous accusation, solve a mystery...
Five Star Verified Review: I loved that there so many red herrings for "who did it." Plus *twists and turns*. Good character development. Plus a little romance. I truly enjoyed it.
Five Star Verified Review: This story is full of mystery, suspense, danger, and deceit, with the good, the bad, and the ugliness in people. Also a great love story. It is well written and very entertaining.
Five Stars: This is a well written period novel with much mystery. A teacher is gone in the night, crying and another is just gone. Miss Lynne is hired as a school teacher and held subject to the school board and it’s “rules” for teachers. (Actual Code of Conduct rules from the time period) Miss Lynne is not only a good teacher but an advocate for all women. Mayor Nash is on the school board, he is determined to protect her. Their relationship sizzles right from the start. You will really like this story.
