Acerca de esta escucha
This book explores how love for ourselves originates from Gods love for us, and asks how we can love ourselves in a way that is neither self-absorbed nor narcissistic. Richard Frost engages with both the head and the heart to discover what is appropriate self-care, wrestling with some of the issues and offering kernels of wisdom gleaned from his own experience and from other people, as well as signposting practical self-help. There is honesty and profound insight in this writing that draws on a wide knowledge of other writers and thinkers. The book touches on aspects of spirituality, identity and wellbeing, and explores the human condition: what will help us to make choices between good, better or best, balancing love of neighbour with love of ourselves? This book can be read comfortably at a single sitting, but it is also a book to linger with, to mine and to apply to daily living and spiritual practice.
Richard Frost is a licensed lay minister, Benedictine Oblate and former mental health and employment specialist. He holds an MSc in Vocational Rehabilitation and was appointed MBE for services to mental health in 2018. His other books include Life with St Benedict (BRF, 2019), Finding Stability in Times of Change (Endulini, 2022) and A Story to Tell: Learning from People who Met Jesus (Amazon Kindle and from the author). Richard writes a blog and presents a podcast at workrestpray.com and details of all his books can be found at richardfrostauthor.com. He is married to Jane, who is an Anglican priest; they live in Devon.
