 The Pirates of the Skull attacked and butchered the inhabitants of the peaceful island of Merr. The island had a natural supply of gold. The pirates wanted to own the island and would accept nothing less that total genocide of its inhabitants. They slaughtered the men, raped the women, and murdered the children. More than half the island’s population was left dying or dead. When they left, it was with a vow to return with thousands of killers, but when they did, the island was ready.

Princess Selena became the island’s Chosen-One. She formed Merr’s military. One that identified itself as the Maids of Merr. The pirates found they could run, but they could not hide from the wrath of the Maids of Merr.

Selena and her warriors were shapeshifters, able to become mermaids. They could switch from walking on land to dominating the ocean at will. A powerful apparition from the bottom of the enchanted lake provided magical uniforms for anyone who joined Selena. The only acceptable outcome in the minds of the Maids of Merr was the total annihilation of the Pirates of the Skull. They could not be stopped in their pursuit of every living Pirate of the Skull all the way back to the demons who controlled them.
