Portsmouth is a city in turmoil as the streets erupt with anger and violence while a pair of sadistic child abductors and killers remains at large and apparently able to strike whenever and wherever they desire. The streets and city estates descend into fear and riots while the killers remain at large and the population vent their frustration in a world recently blighted by a global pandemic. The Police struggle to find those guilty due to the lack of evidence at each crime scene and the growing hostility of the local population as the fear and anger continue to grow.

Meanwhile two sad souls linked together by a common purpose stalk the dark alleys of the city estates looking for their next victim. One, an evil, sadistic killer who enjoyed molesting young girls. The other drawn in by his own personal motives can plan each abduction to the minutest detail. Can they be caught?

Susan has an evil, sick taste for young girls and when they no longer satisfy her sadistic desires she simply kills them and moves on to the next victim. Aided and abetted by the love-sick and spineless Alex Morgan they bring terror and anger to the streets of Portsmouth as their reign of terror continues unchallenged. Three young girls are taken from their homes in the middle of the night and all three suffer the ultimate fate as Susan brutally marches on in her insane, sadistic way.
One detective believes he can catch them. DS Charlie Jones has an impressive record for crime detection, and he is certain that he will bring the killers to justice soon. However, can Charlie do it before the city is destroyed by fire, fear and anger as violence erupts and anarchy is threatened? He is constantly held back by the drunken and paranoid DCI Francis Hayter he follows the few available clues and using his own unique ability to visualise the crime scenes Charlie eventually tracks down Susan and Alex and in a brutal final showdown he finally ends their reign of terror.

City in fear is not a novel for the easily upset or the easily offended. Read the story if you dare. It will shock you and it will anger you but remember murder has always been a shocking crime.
