Nicaise Kibel’Bel Oka is an investigative journalist, director of the newspaper Les Coulisses and of the Center for Geopolitical Studies and Research of Eastern Congo (C.E.R.G.E.C). Recipient of the Abraham Prize (2006) for Nature Conservation and the 2009 African Press Freedom Award from CNN, he was named one of the 100 Information Heroes in the World in 2014 by Reporters Without Borders/France. He specializes in defense and security issues and has published numerous works on geopolitics and conflicts in the African Great Lakes region.
