Brief summary-
When a GPS error leads four thrill-seekers deep into a thick forest, they stumble upon a deserted military base. As they explore the crumbling structure in search of excitement, they find themselves facing a string of horrifying occurrences that defy reason and seem impossible to evade.
Extended summary-
When the GPS shows error, making Emma, Jack, Lizzy and Elijah feel utterly lost, the invisible nightmare begins to take place. A wave of restlessness washes over them, punctuated by the growing dread that gnaws at their emotions. As if summoned by their silent despair, a hulking silhouette materializes through the trees- an abandoned military base. Decades of neglect have tormented its façade, leaving it a skeletal monument to a forgotten war. The rusted doors, groaning in protest, yawn open like the maw of some ancient beast, revealing crumbling walls covered in layers of graffiti and faded propaganda posters—forgotten memories etched into the concrete.
Curiosity, fueled by a potent cocktail of adrenaline and desperation, drives them forward, past the warnings screaming in the pit of their stomachs. The long, empty corridors stretch before them, cold and indifferent, echoing with the silence of forgotten purpose. Dust motes dance in the shafts of moonlight that penetrate broken windows, illuminating piles of decaying equipment and scattered documents. The group, initially hesitant, begins to browse through the dusty artifacts, each item a ghostly echo of the soldiers who once roamed these halls: rusted helmets, cracked photographs, decaying letters filled with longing.
As they venture further, whispers begin to circulate, originating from the cold echoing hallways. They are faint at first, barely audible, but they grow stronger, pulling them deeper into the heart of the base. The whispers converge at a single point and lead them towards a door, heavy and imposing.
A sense of foreboding washes over Lizzy as Jack pushes it open, the hinges screaming in agony. The door reveals a staircase spiraling down into an abyss of shadows.
One by one, they descend into the tunnels, the air growing thicker by the minute. The temperature plummets, and strange sounds reverberate around them. Scratches, like nails on stone, echo from the unseen walls with muted cries muffled above the thumping of their hearts, drift from the darkness. The light vanishes, and they are forced to rely on the feeble beam of their phone flashlights, each step echoing eerily in the confined space.
As the shadows lengthen and the oppressive silence closes in, the base claims its due.
Slowly, each one of them begins to succumb to the paranoia, lost in the labyrinthine corridors, driven mad by the voices. As they try to escape the clutches of the abandoned base, the whispers cling to their thoughts like parasites, etching the horrors of the night deep within their hallucinating minds.
One survives, but at what cost..?
The one who emerges from the woods is just a ghost of the person who no longer dwells in this world, a shadow in the mirror, forever haunted by the echoes of the deep tunnels and the faces of lost souls, a broken reflection to the darkness that lies hidden beneath the unseen surface of the illusive reality.
