Acerca de esta escucha
The author has mixed feelings about this book.
At first, he thought it was brilliant and life-changing—and some readers agreed. He let the praise go to his head.
But many didn’t get it.
Eventually, Kalin became ashamed—of the mind-over-matter hocus-pocus, the plot holes, the misunderstood or offensive moments, the painfully awkward sex scenes. He disowned the book for 20 years.
Maybe that was a mistake.
Because this strange, messy story is still a window into his soul. So here it is, unchanged and unedited—for better or worse.
The plot:
Lisa is a slave on a desert planet slowly dying of starvation. Religion has torn the world apart, but Lisa’s optimism endures—possibly thanks to copious amounts of hash.
Then a mysterious visitor arrives, teasing the population with hope and a new way of seeing reality. Lisa, already obsessed with exploring her mind and soul, finally finds a teacher.
The problem is, no matter how expansive her consciousness becomes... she's still a slave.
