Discover the incredible true story of the legends who built an American empire. The will to succeed defines the greatness of men.
Great men are forged through a combination of social, economic, and political conditions favoring both the individual and the greater good. When the conditions are just right, everybody wins. Yet, when one interest trumps another, somebody must lose. It is this juxtaposition that defines history; either man can better his own situation at the expense of others or improve everybody’s situation at his own expense.
Character is often built from the latter and can carry men through the toughest of times. In fact, history shows us that a little bit of grit and determination can go a long way toward building something greater than oneself. This is what makes some people titans. In addition, people must often think outside the box to accomplish this greatness. In other words, greatness is achieved by taking risks and by doing something different than the everyday. It is this boldness that makes history.
Take a journey into the minds of the titans who created the American empire.
Would you risk it all to achieve greatness?

A good read for anyone interested in American Commerce History. And the industrialists who shaped the Americas of the late 1800s and early years of the 20th century.
This audiobook is full of facts, and is very interesting.
Narration is very easy to listen to.

How can I give a dispassionate review when two of the men are The Library Builder (Carnegie) and my
favorite Trust Buster and former NYC Police Commissioner Teddy Roosevelt? Brief bios of each of
particular industry leaders and innovators are presented warts and all with a wrap up and key points at the end of each presentation. Who knew that JP Morgan recovered from Rheumatic Fever as a child and lost his first love to tuberculosis at an early age? Well and concisely written without vindictiveness or whitewash. Highly recommend!
I love listening to narrator Samuel Hairston with his cadencing and deeper voice quality. Sometimes there are regional pronunciations that are not what I hear every day, but they are far less intrusive than some I hear in books with medical terms.
I won this audiobook in a giveaway! I really win!

The only downside is the recording quality is shaky. Volume changes chapter to chapter and you can ear audio quality differences when edits were made. It takes you out of the experience when those things happen.
If you want an introduction to the people listed on the table of content, this is worth your time.
