Molly McKenzie's bright personality and on-trend fashion and beauty advice have earned her an impressive social-media following, as well as a shiny monthly paycheck. When her manager-turned-boyfriend tells her of an upcoming audition to host a makeover show for America's underprivileged youth, all her dreams finally seem to be coming true. There's just one catch: She has little experience interacting with people in need.

To gain an edge on her competitors, she applies to volunteer at a transitional program for aged-out foster kids during summer, only the program's director, Silas Whittaker, doesn't find her as charming as her followers do. But since forfeiting a goal has never been her style, Molly's only option is to accept the terms Silas lays out and submit to his rules - even the most ridiculous ones pertaining to social media.

Soon as the residents of the home become more than a means to pad her career resume, and Silas becomes more than an obstacle on her path to fame, her once-narrow focus expands to include the deep needs of those she's serving...and perhaps the ones she's neglected inside herself as well. It took years to build her platform, but only one summer to discover what really matters most.

This book features a powerful storyline that beautifully captures emotional depth. As someone striving to refine their reading style, I find myself wishing for more narrators and stories like these to create a duet style, bringing even more vibrancy to the characters on the pages.

I couldn't put this book down. it kept my attention with every turn and twist. it was filled with faith, romance, and all sorts of emotion. Some characters I hated, others I wanted to reach in and comfort, and others I could identify with on many levels. I highly recommend this book.

this story covered every emotion possible. I laughed, I cried, I was angry, I was afraid and it was all given in a loving and supportive manner. God was given all the credit and was talked about throughout the book but it was also not so prominent that it was a church message. there was still a lot of story left to enjoy the growth and the romance and the friendships and everything else. My one issue would be that it was a very slow beginning.

This story was fantastic! I couldn't put it down. The characters were relatable and likable as they faced challenges. There was humor, fun banter, seriousness, and wonder. I didn't want it to end! I need a sequel.

This story is a great look at how the online social media sites are not an adequate replacement for true in person relationships. And a life only focused on what enriches ones self fails to satisfy in the long run. Sharing and caring has great rewards for those who give as well as those who receive.

Deliverance from self absorption

This book seemed like it was going to be stereotypical in every sense, but it wasn’t. I had already had the storyline pegged from the beginning of the book and boy was I wrong. Most of the time I assumed something was going to happen and it didn’t. A couple of aspects of the book you are able to predict, but that’s completely okay because it wasn’t cheesy. I loved all the characters both main and side. And the back stories were just.. ❤️.. This book was really able to make me feel my feelings and a plus was that it kept me close to God through the read.
