Another Great Historical Mystery

First, I love continuing the series. Each book is complete, but the story arc progresses, as in everyone's life, with ups and downs. Both the blossoming romance and growing friendships with neighbors are just delightful.
The mysteries, which Lane Winslow just can't help getting involved in, are exciting and difficult for readers to untangle before the inspector Darling, Ames, and Lane trio puzzle them out. Just plain enjoyment.

The history and mystery are superb

I have read/listened to all the books up to this point, but I really do not like the heroine, She is a modern woman transported back to the 1940s. The dynamic between her and Darling is forced. The last scene between them seemed contrived with no sense of why he would show up at her home. I have decided not to continue with the series. Too bad because I like the premise. Also the narrator does not do a good job with Darling’s dialogue.
