Acerca de esta escucha

In the USA today, there is a bias in the church, which favors those I call intellectuals. Those that lack the proper academic credentials are often dismissed by the intellectuals, lacking their respect. This rise of intellectualism in the church today is an unfortunate situation because it has created a caste system of the haves and have nots, within the body of Christ. This is particularly distressing when the church should be a place which has no distinctions or partiality. The greatest line of demarcation in this unspoken caste system within the church concerns the understanding of the Word of God. The perception is often given, which implies that in order to understand the Word of God and the God of the Word, one must be a trained scholar. In my opinion, this is one of the primary reasons that many of those called of God are not willing students of His Word, because they feel inadequate and ill equipped to be a studied student. I believe this dominance of intellectualism was the case within the church at Corinth. Intellectualism in the Corinth fostered many layers of problems within the church. These problems prompted some in the church to approach the Apostle Paul to mediate, asking him to help them set straight their course as the family of God.
