15 Seconds of Fame... a Ned Bloom investigation, is the first SteamNoir shortform story I've written for the Steampunk genre. Set in my own imagined Steampunk London, I envisioned Ned Bloom as a noir-style detective, run out of East Coast USA, and transplanted across the pond. Life here has taken some time to get used to it, but after a while, Ned has come to enjoy the hustle and bustle of London city life. And with the constant nagging and niggling from his automaton assistant, Gertrude, he's determined to make a go of it. But some things will never stay buried and Ned soon finds himself ...
