Mine clearance, or demining, is a life-saving endeavor in post-conflict regions, and Afghanistan is no exception. Afghanistan has been marred by decades of conflict, from the Soviet invasion in the 1980s to civil wars and the Taliban regime, followed by the post-2001 era with the U.S. intervention and subsequent insurgencies. Each phase of conflict left a lethal legacy: landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) scattered across vast stretches of the country. This is a children's book telling the tale of our heroes who went over and fought for freedom.

In 1966, more than 200 courageous Aboriginal people walked off the Wave Hill Cattle Station in the Northern Territory. Led by Vincent Lingiari, these stockmen and their families were walking together to fight for equal pay and land rights. This non-fiction audiobook brings a landmark historical event to a new generation. Many people have seen the iconic photograph of Gough Whitlam pouring a handful of red soil into the hands of Vincent Lingiari – a symbol of the legal transfer of Gurindji land back to the Gurindji people – and recognise this as a key moment in the ongoing land rights movement.
