Leo Tolstoy's classic story of doomed love is one of the most admired novels in world literature. Generations of readers have been enthralled by his magnificent heroine, the unhappily married Anna Karenina, and her tragic affair with dashing Count Vronsky.

The Wayward Woman
Revisado: 12-07-22
Overall, I liked the book. It's my third or fourth Russian novel this year and I have learned more about their culture.
What hasn't changed much over the centuries is how woman are looked down upon more than men when having affairs.
I also enjoyed the getting to know the other characters in the book that rounded out the story.

Historia
From the moment Mary Poppins arrives at Number Seventeen Cherry Tree Lane, everyday life at the Banks house is forever changed. Jane, Michael, and the twins have never had such a wonderful nanny, who brings enchantment and excitement everywhere she goes. In Mary Poppins Comes Back, the beloved nanny returns when she's pulled down from the clouds by the string of Michael's kite. In her care, the Banks children meet the King of the Castle and the Dirty Rascal, visit the upside-down world of Mr. Turvy and his bride, Miss Topsy, and spend a breathless afternoon above the park, dangling from a clutch of balloons.

Nice to read the story behind the movie.

I enjoyed it for the most part, but thought some of the sounds and voices were done in an annoying way.

As a Crime Junkie can, I enjoyed the podcast element. The pace kept me interested. I also liked how male voices were used to represent the police interviews.

Whether it's a 300-year-old ghost who's scared out of his wits, a tenderhearted statue with a mission of mercy, or the suave Lord Savile who cannot commit a crime, the characters in these stories by witty Oscar Wilde make the tales priceless delights. Absurd, ironic, poignant, or scathing, these small gems of the storyteller's art are sure to become favorites. This collection, narrated by Frank Muller, includes "Lord Arthur Savile's Crime," "The Model Millionaire," "The Nightingale and the Rose," and more.

Glad I gave a listen.
Revisado: 07-18-22
I definitely liked some stories more than others, but enjoyed each one. Most had humorous elements and some stories had a moral to them. Glad I had this as my second book when driving across Tennessee. But if I was the producer, I would have had the two voices alternate stories instead of changing voices half way through. That would give a cleaner transition between stories.

I listened to this while on a road trip and it was entertaining. It wasn't deep or something that would make you remember it for a long time. But if you're looking for light entertainment, you'll enjoy it.

I've been wanting to read some classics. It really depicts the time period well. Overall, it's a good story. I enjoyed getting to know the characters. But sometimes Scarlett even annoyed me with all her thinking about Ashley.

Always love his characterization!
Revisado: 07-24-21
I always find his good and bad guys fascinating. But this story also includes a pitiable character. A bad mother with some deep pain from her past. Another interesting read.
