It was fine 👍🏼
Revisado: 03-26-25
It was recommended to me as being similar to Hold from Claire Kent.. well, let's just say that it definitely wasn't that.
it was nice enough, and the initial plot is quite original.. but I didn't feel the love between the MC's , he seemed smitten enough but it seemed like she didn't care at all.
it honestly felt very fast, very forced and I don't feel compelled to listen to the next one.

Historia
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

I don't know how I feel about it.
Revisado: 02-14-25
I really loved the beginning of this book, until things started to progress way too fast and eventually it left me kind of unsatisfied. It's like the author took the time to write the first half of the book, creating these awesome characters, great world building, a lot of mystery and puzzle pieces that you can't wait to put together. Doctor Death's story was tragic, making him the perfect morally gray hero with his attractive mysterious aura. Lilia was also a great fmc, with solid motivation behind her actions. All of the other characters mentioned really left you wandering if they were good or bad the entire time, making the whole mystery hard to put away. The medical/horror side of it was interesting as well, adding depth and suspance. Then everything started rushing, too many plot lines thrown together, the relationship between the MC's went way too deep way too soon, considering all of the baggage they both had and that the story takes up barely three months. The solution to most of the mysteries was underwhelming, and the addiction of all of these sudden dangers all together was unnecessary imo.
It's as if the author rushed to end the book, but still wanted to include every single idea that popped up in her mind. Some actions/reactions of the characters towards the end didn't make sense to me.. and the last lines in the epilogue about someone's brother and someone's sister truly shocked me. like WHYYYY.
Narration was really good, but not my absolute favourite if I have to be honest, although I couldn't exactly pinpoint why.

Historia
When the asteroid hits and the world falls apart, I'm seventeen, and my dad buys us a place in an underground bunker. We're supposed to be safe down there, but we're not. Gradually, I lose everything until all I have left is a bewildering relationship with a stoic, unknowable man. As one of the guards in the bunker, Grant has lurked in the background of my life for years, teaching me to defend myself, making sure I'm safe, and infuriating me by treating me like a sheltered princess in a tower. I don't even know if he likes me, even after we end up in bed together.

Still a really good book 📚
Revisado: 01-29-25
It was a good book and I listened all in one sitting. The only difference between this one and the other ones from Claire Kent, is that I couldn't bring myself to like the fmc this time.
She had her good moments, her being whiny, sheltered and constantly assuming stuff out of nowhere was absolutely believable considering her life before the asteroid and her age, but I still found myself getting frustrated or tired of her at times. Grant was so much better!
overall not a bad read, but I wouldn't re-read, if that makes sense.

Maybe Jackson would be different if he were in love. If he were in a relationship. Or, if the world outside this room hadn't fallen into violent chaos, hadn't become a constant war we have no choice but to fight. Maybe he would take his time. Be softer. Gentler. Maybe he would smile or even laugh. Maybe I would be different too. Maybe I wouldn't need his hungry eyes and demanding hands in the dark. But this is how we are together every time. He's not my friend or my boyfriend, but sometimes I go to his room after the sun goes down. I need to.

Revisado: 01-28-25
The only flaw of this book is how short it is, I would've easily eaten up much more!
And it's truly incredible how, in this short story, Claire managed to make me love the characters so much!
Faith and Jackson are truly awesome, albeit a bit silly when it comes to admitting their feelings to eachother.
The setting, the banter, the inner-discoveries, the cameos from Last Light.. everything was just chef's kiss.

Shari Franke’s childhood was a constant battle for survival. Her mother, Ruby Franke, enforced a severe moral code while maintaining a façade of a picture-perfect family for their wildly popular YouTube channel 8 Passengers, which documented the day-to-day life of raising six children for a staggering 2.5 million subscribers. But a darker truth lurked beneath the surface—Ruby’s wholesome online persona masked a more tyrannical parenting style than anyone could have imagined.

Historia
Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.

Good read but a bit over hyped
Revisado: 10-11-24
I had very high expectations considering the raving reviews it's getting lately, but it was just good, I didn't feel the need to keep reading or not being able to put it down.
The female main character was not my favourite, and I just didn't bond with any of the characters. The closest I've felt to was to Fred the cat, and that's just cause it's a cat.
It was interesting enough, some parts truly made me laugh and the plot twist was unexpected. Narration was top notch.
All in all I'm glad I read it but I wouldn't re-read it again.

The first letter arrived the day my husband was buried. It was postmarked from the state penitentiary, and contained a single sentence: I’ll wait forever if I have to. It was signed by Dante, a man I didn’t know. Out of simple curiosity, I wrote back to ask him what exactly he was waiting for. His reply? You.

I'm going to try and describe this book without giving anything away hopefully.
When I was recommended this book I was told to go in completely blind and I'm so glad I did.
I have to be honest, there's going to be quite a bit of spice (the pet names they use are super cringy though, you're warned), a lot of weird things happening and you're going to be confused until the very end asking yourself if you're reading a horror, a thriller, a dark romance, a paranormal book, a mix of all?
I promise all of this confusion is worth it.
One of those cases where the end of a book completely changes the value of it.
I was SHOCKED.

I walk into the bar with my pack, and I scent her straight away. She’s lying behind the counter with blood trailing from an injury to her head. My desire to protect her stuns me almost as much as her beauty. But it’s the smell of her blood that stuns me the most—it’s something not quite human. When she wakes up, her fear tells me all I need to know. She definitely thinks she’s mortal. I choose to disagree.

The plot was fine, as was the first few chapters of this story. Great introduction to the characters and the plot seemed to be solid.. Then I don't know what happened but the entire rest of the book was filled with phone calls and conversations with other people doing the dirty work for our main characters, which instead spent basically all of their time having very boring and repetitive sex, meditating on a river bank or talking AGAIN about the conversation previously had. It was soooo damned long with unnecessary dialogues and descriptions.
I was about to DNF many times but kept at it purely out of spite at this point.. thinking, If I have spent soo much time on it already, I'll have to see how it ends.. and now of course I'm left with a cliffhanger. Sorry but no, I will not continue.

SPOILERS AHEAD.
She works in her own office, she's an omega and works a lot. He's an alpha that is often frustrated, like most alphas.
They fuck.
She works a lot and thinks about him.
He feels frustrated without her.
She takes several showers and we get described each of them for some reason.
They realise they are partially bonded, so she finds him again. They fuck.
She goes by office after office trying to make it official. She works a lot, he's frustrated.
She manages to get the permission to fully bond.
They fuck.
The end.
I've saved you six hours and a credit.
Narration was even worse, flat toned and boring than the book itself.
Spicy scenes were almost gross, with liters of "slick" everything and so fu**ing repetitive.
Sorry but not worth it.
