Historia
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Sadistic!!
Revisado: 11-09-12
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would have liked to see a certain character screw up a little bit!!
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I would have tried to put in a mistake that psycho wouldnt have thought about and let that character being completely taken by surprise by it and in a public setting
Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne – was your favorite?
Kirby's and Julia's performances were brilliant and a bright spot to the story, when the 2nd part of the book started it sent me to the floor as they had me picturing something totally different. It reminded me of the book called the Collector and intill you see the point of view from someone else you actually start feeling for the psycho
Did Gone Girl inspire you to do anything?
Recheck my wifes background!!!
Any additional comments?
This stroy deserves a five I just wanted it to end differently, but it ended as it should have and it's psychological insights were scary. We do put on a different character thoose first years of marriage, and as the divorce rate suggests when that facade is gone most marriages can't handle it. Are we always pretending. Amys quote that love should have conditions will haunt me for a long time to come

Historia
Emerging as a market town from a cluster of hill villages in the eighth and seventh centuries B.C., Rome grew to become the ancient world's preeminent power. Everitt fashions the story of Rome's rise to glory into an erudite book filled with lasting lessons for our time. He chronicles the clash between patricians and plebeians that defined the politics of the Republic. He shows how Rome's shrewd strategy of offering citizenship to her defeated subjects was instrumental in expanding the reach of her burgeoning empire.

Historia
Kierkegaard wasn't really a philosopher in the academic sense. Yet he produced what many people expect of philosophy. His subject was the individual and his or her existence, the "existing being." In Kierkegaard's view, this purely subjective entity lay beyond the reach of reason, logic, philosophical systems, theology, or even "the pretenses of psychology." Nonetheless, it was the source of all these subjects. The branch of philosophy to which Kierkegaard gave birth has come to be known as existentialism.

Teach Me How To Exist!!
Revisado: 10-23-12
What did you love best about Kierkegaard in 90 Minutes?
It pushed me to question the meaning of my existense and what was I doing with it.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Kierkegaard in 90 Minutes?
Realizing that Soren really believed that by bringing ridicule upon himself, he would become a better Christian. Equally the last meeting he had with Regine and she asked God to bless him after all he but her through.
Have you listened to any of Robert Whitfield’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No but I look forward to it
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
That we need to take personal resposibility for what our individual existenses will end up meaning, especially thoose who are given time to define that existense. The other one is that we know we exist because we can doubt that we do. Wonderful paradox!!
Any additional comments?
I wish I could understand these things better, but it's obvious that todays thinkers dont delve nearly deep enough and I worry that we our losing a chance to understand the unknown and what humanity means as technology begins to rule. I believe that Kierkegard would be disturbed with how many people these days blame their state of affairs on the conditions surronding them not looking at there lives and accepting that they can define them regardless of that!

Historia
For Kierkegaard, truth is a subjective reality which we must live, not something to simply consider and discuss. His self-consciousness and self-examination highlight the practical demands of existence, and he opposes the speculative thinking of philosophical idealists. Kierkegaard says much of life's meaning depends not on external conditions, but on our internal choices about relating to them. He urges us to live with purpose and emphasizes that our task is not knowing but doing.

A Philosophical Materpiece
Revisado: 10-20-12
What did you love best about Soren Kierkegaard?
It taught me why philosophy matters.
What did you like best about this story?
His love for Regina and his understanding that subjectivity is more important than objectivity.Allthough tragic the genius that Soren had taught people to look for more than just getting by. This story told me I need to find my purpose and when I do that will be "my" truth, not what everyone else thinks it should be for me.
What about Charlton Heston’s performance did you like?
His calrity and obvious love for the subject matter.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
Truth is what you make of it, not what the world does.
Any additional comments?
Wonderful summary....I listened to it 3 times. His life just fascinated me

If you could sum up The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents Earth (The Audiobook) in three words, what would they be?
Serious Sarcasm
What other book might you compare The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents Earth (The Audiobook) to and why?
John Colberts book even though Stewart makes Colbert look silly his quality is far better and less diatribe
Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
The alien faqs....HILARIOUIS
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No but could have done so on a trip....it certainly keeps your attention
Any additional comments?
Jon Stewart makes you think without making you feel like its a chore, I do wonder how many times I forget that the issues he addresses are real and serious. Thanks to Jon and his staff he never lets the humor get in the way of the point and vice versa the seriousness of the ideas presented don't get in the way of our humanity and ability to laugh at ourselves....even when we should be embarassed as he*l

Reality Better Than Fiction
Revisado: 09-20-12
What did you love best about No Easy Day?
This story gives me such an appreciation for the men and women that protect our freedom. I loved the fact he didnt glamorize it. His line about the food being in a container marked for military or prison literally made me sick that we treat our military like that. Yet he syas right in that moment they dont do it for that and in these Seals case i believe them.He didnt make this a moral issue and the casual way he describes the killing of these insurgents is spot on. I know people want emotion in this but it shows exactly what it has to be like for him, and why his job is a huge challenge and burden. Being human is bad in his line on work. No easy day is a perfect title because it didnt just represent the day they killed Osama it represents every day of our military personnel caught in the crossfire of protecting our freedom!!
What did you like best about this story?
How much a coward Osama Bin Laden really was. He expected his followers to fight to the grave, but he didnt even try....he was just another greedy business man abusing the ideology of a people. He never wanted to die for this he just wanted the fame...the wives and the pleasures of being rich as noted in his compound. What a coward. I thought it was hilarious to hear about a hair dye formula made in America being used by Coward Bin Laden. Thanks for supporting our economy to keep yourself looking young for that young wife of yours
What about Holter Graham’s performance did you like?
His voice was superb for the part and he hit the words when needed perfectly. It was more like a performance than a reading
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes...I kept wishing my drive time would be longer
Any additional comments?
Just awesome....thank you american miltitary you guys rock!
