Historia
Reform or Revolution, also titled Social Reform or Revolution?, is an 1899 pamphlet by Polish-German Marxist theorist Rosa Luxemburg, in which she argues that trade unions, reformist political parties, and the expansion of social democracy could not create a socialist society as Eduard Bernstein, among others, argued. She contends from a historical materialist perspective that capitalism is economically unsustainable and will eventually collapse and that a revolution is necessary to transform capitalism into socialism.

Good book, funny performance
Revisado: 07-14-22
The later chapters of the book really get into the meat of what's wrong with the reform approach, and lay it out so clearly and simply why it won't work. Highly recommended read.
The narrator though, they're good and loved the whiny voice they did for the comments of the liberals. However they do have some pronunciation issues: "dialetical" instead of "dialectical" was common throughout, with "transistory" instead of "transitory" and "secretarian" instead of "sectarian" being quite funny. :)

Are you tired of feeling f*cked up? If you are, Gary John Bishop has the answer. In this straightforward handbook, he gives you the tools and advice you need to demolish the slag weighing you down and become the truly unf--ked version of yourself. "Wake up to the miracle you are," he directs. "Here's what you've forgotten: You're a f--king miracle of being." It isn't other people that are standing in your way; it isn't even your circumstances that are blocking your ability to thrive. It's yourself and the negative self-talk you keep telling yourself.

One of the most toxic books I ever read
Revisado: 08-08-21
This is a self help book that pretends it isn't. If it helped you, great, but it's a horrible book with impressive number of wrong idea packed in. And it's often quite good at finding the issues, but then it keeps smacking you with the most obnoxious, horrific neoliberal bullshit. Just avoid it.

Narrator pronounces names incorrectly
Revisado: 08-19-19
Narrator obviously didn't bother learning how to pronounce the names correctly. Especially egregious were the Eye-lliryians, then many of the other names were slightly misspronounced. However when he started with Archons with ch being read as in cheers, I drew a line.

Good book, bad narrator.
Revisado: 07-07-16
Interesting and fun story, but pronunciation of names is just horrific. The narrator even manages to somehow add T/D sound into "Mianaai". They are also very fond of high pitched, annoying voices. Still, good book.

Historia
Touched off by a terrorist act in Bosnia and spreading all too quickly beyond the expectations of those who were involved, World War I was an unprecedented catastrophe with a ghastly cost. After this first "total war"-the first conflict involving entire societies mobilized to wage unrestrained war, devoting all their wealth, industries, institutions, and the lives of their citizens to win victory at any price - the world itself would never be the same.

EXCELLENT SURVEY COURSE THAT NEEDS MORE CHRONOLOGY
- De Ark1836 en 06-08-15
Annoyingly biased
Revisado: 09-17-15
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
There are many good discussions about various aspects of war. Unfortunately, too many are biased against the Central Powers to an annoying degree.
Any additional comments?
Bias against Central Powers emerges after fairly balanced initial lectures. This is especially noticeable when USA is in the picture. Everything USA does is positive, other Allies are in a more grey area, yet Central Powers are usually the bad guys of the piece.
Very little is said of the Italian or Romanian fronts, or of the war on the Mediterannean. Lots of time spent on French, British US and German home fronts, something on Russian; almost nothing on Austro-Hungarian, Turkish or Italian.
