How to Be an Imperfectionist: The New Way to Self-Acceptance, Fearless Living, and Freedom from Perfectionism

Historia
Perfectionism is a naturally limiting mindset. For example, kids are taught to color inside the lines, and any color outside the lines is considered a mistake that must be corrected. Imperfectionism frees us to live outside the lines, where possibilities are infinite, mistakes are allowed, and self-judgment is minimal.

Life changing!
Revisado: 10-07-23
I don’t think it’s a stretch to recommend this book to everyone. I came across this book at the perfect time for me. I didn’t even know that it was perfectionism that I was struggling with until I listened to it. What an eye opener! Finished it by the 2nd day. Also starting implementing some the strategies the 2nd day upon finishing and all I can say is Wow, where has this been all my life?!
A huge thank you doesn’t express my gratitude to the Author for writing such well curated content not only on what perfectionism is but also what we can do instead.
Also, the narrator is great! So well suited to this content that he made me laugh out loud more than a few times! Haha! It was an unexpected comedic relief as I was processing all of the new ways of thinking and acting that was being presented,
My advice is if you were led to this book take that as a sign it was meant to be and get it! You will not regret it!
Also, if you don’t have his book Mini Habits I highly recommend it as well!

Revisado: 03-09-23
It only took me 2 days to finish this entire book. I laughed, I cried, I was broken open, and I’ve experienced immeasurable personal healing just by hearing Beth’s story and identifying with a great deal of it, since I come from a very similar background.
This book is a pure gift from God to all that He’s going to lead to read/listen to it. Within its pages are the answers to many a heart’s cry. So if you have the slightest nudging whatsoever to obtain Beth’s memoir then please consider it God’s gift to your soul. Question it no further and get it. You will see on the inside why you were brought to it. Let God be God and just get the book!

Even though I wasn’t directly influenced by IBLP, I did have ‘brushes’ with his ‘gospel’ indirectly bc even ‘bad news’, as opposed to the Good News, finds a way of creeping into other Christian circles, even if a little bit. Let’s just say I’d already known about the ‘umbrella of protection’ theology Gothard taught. Suffice it to say my background had so many similarities in my spiritual formation. This book along with Jessica Willis Fisher’s recently released book, Unspeakable, has been so helpful in my own disentangling process. To God be the Glory for those who take courage and sound out encouragement to others who are on their own personal journey to THE Truth, Who sets us FREE. Get the book!

A Hidden Wholeness is a thoughtful and heartfelt examination of sources and consequences of the alienation we feel when our inner and outer lives become divorced from each other, when external forces pressure us to depart from our soul's true yearnings. The book lifts up the problem of the "divided life", diagnoses its sources, assesses its personal and social costs, and offers a model of community that will help people live with greater integrity and wholeness.

Don’t hesitate to get this book. Packed with the kind of everyday wisdom we all possess but that has gotten buried by trying to be too sophisticated. From the content, to the narration, it was such a pleasure to listen to on my journey to rediscover and recover my self worth. I’ve certainly been bettered by this book. Looking forward to more from the Author.

While the world seems to be in love with the idea of tiny houses and minimalism, many of us simply can't purge it all and start from nothing. Yet a home with too much stuff is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin? Add in paralyzing emotional attachments and constant life challenges, and it can feel almost impossible to make real decluttering progress.

Revisado: 07-18-20
Every single Born Again follower of Christ needs this book!!! Although I was raised Baptist and received Christ as my Savior as a young girl I was filled with The Spirit as an adult in my 50’s. But I did not have the foundational knowledge concerning my new experience and Holy Spirit Upgrade. In my journey to date concerning my search for understanding and a working knowledge THIS BOOK IS BY FAR THE MOST BENEFICIAL. It should be the Go To Manuel for all Believers everywhere! I can’t say enough about it. Even if you are Spirit filled and have been since a child this book gives so much foundational understanding that is beneficial in helping others understanding as well. Thank you so Much Bill Hamon!! I am Eternally grateful to you for your work and dedication in creating this Masterpiece of Spiritual Understanding! And as an added bonus...the Narrator is perfect for this Audio book!!

The secret behind France's astonishingly well-behaved children is here. When American journalist Pamela Druckerman has a baby in Paris, she doesn't aspire to become a "French parent". French parenting isn't a known thing, like French fashion or French cheese. Even French parents themselves insist they aren't doing anything special. But French children are far better behaved and more in command of themselves than American kids....

I thoroughly enjoyed this 'read'! It was interesting, funny. and I looked forward to it every day. It was a delightful diversion from the type of books I usually listen to. I am so glad my daughter-in-law recommended it to me. My only disappointment was when I'd finished it. I was left wanting more! Get it! Historia
Too many discipleship books are written for clean, perfect people who know all the right Sunday school answers. The Imperfect Disciple is for the rest of us - people who screw up, people who are weary, people who are wondering if it's safe to say what they're really thinking. For the believer who is tired of quasi-spiritual lifehacks being passed off as true, down-and-dirty discipleship, here is a discipleship book that isn't afraid to be honest about the mess we call real life.

A Must Read or Listen!
Revisado: 10-06-17
There are so many great things
about this book! I providentially
started listening to this book after experiencing a 'discipleship fail'.
This book contains THE PERFECT MESSAGE for anyone who needs encouragement when their walk
with God had gotten messy, are discouraged, depressed and full of despair. But you don't have to be 'down' to appreciate its wonderful hope-filled content. One can also start it when all is bright with not a cloud in the sky and be blessed by the practical wisdom, insight and tremendous encouragement of the author on the Christian life. I very highly recommend this book to every single Christian no matter where you are on your journey with God!
And the narrator is P-E-R-F-E-C-T!
