I’m really enjoying JRH’s early works. He’s one hell of a writer. This is so much better than his later work, like Battlefield Earth. This is short, fast paced and vivid. I recommend it.

The first 2 novels were great. The other 2 not so

I loved revisiting the original Jeff Rice novels. I wish they had been collected along with the Kolchak Double Feature by Chuck Miller. The novelization of Richard Mathesson's The Night Killers. Which was meant to be the 3rd Kolchak movie. And the Miller's The Night Chicago Died, which connects the movies to the tv series. I feel this was a missed opportunity for fans of Kolchak continuity. Cry of Thunder & the Lost World were okay, but nothing special. Especially the latter. I hope there will be more Kolchak audiobooks, like Grave Secrets by Mark Dawidziiak. I can hope.

I 1st read this book in the 90s. When I recommend it to others they usually compare it's concept to Groundhog Day. Such a comparison devalues this amazing novel. This book will haunt you. I'm trilled to experience it on audio. Outstanding!
