Trust me, you need this book. Especially as a student
Revisado: 01-07-22
This book has completely changed my way of thinking.
I have always struggled with staying focused, especially during distanced learning for covid and now with high school as a senior.
However, reading this book has really helped me stay on task: doing homework without checking my phone or using my computer, actually exercising and not just telling myself I will, and sleeping on time (12 pm instead of 3 am which is good for a senior).
The book focused on being aware of the negatives and positives of your thinking and how to change and structure it into what you need to stay focused and motivated.
The author seems dull at first but it really fits the narrative of the book (at least for me as a growing psychology book connoisseur).

Historia
In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

Overall good read as a third book I’m the pile or while walking.

Interesting read, definitely learned from this book and the author was a perfect reader in my mind and fit the style. It’s very anecdotal but they do have a somewhat common theme.
Overall good listen and would recommend to someone who has read a few psychology books and needs one to just read.

Historia
Life in a small Appalachian town is not easy. Cash lost his mother to an opioid addiction and his Papaw is dying slowly from emphysema. Dodging drug dealers and watching out for his best friend, Delaney, is second nature. He's been spending his summer mowing lawns while she works at Dairy Queen. But when Delaney manages to secure both of them full rides to an elite prep school in Connecticut, Cash will have to grapple with his need to protect and love Delaney, and his love for the grandparents who saved him and the town he has to leave behind.

Great listen!! Amazing book accompanied by an amazing voice!! 💛
Revisado: 09-02-21
This book overall is an amazing read and 10 hours goes by like nothing with this book. The story has an amazing start with an introduction of these simple characters soon to be revealed to have a complex background. The story is very quick paced when it needs to be to draw tension yet slow when it needs show the thoughts looming over the main character, Cash. A mass amount of tension grows as a ticking time bomb of a plot grows and builds which draws in the listener. The novel will change your outlook on life as it deals with grief, thoughts of feeling small in a grandiose life, and growth.
The narrator, Michael Crouch, does an AMAZING read of this book, fully bringing in a wide range of characters alive, from simple Tennessee Cash to miss Vi from Brazil. He really knows how to build tension and show life and the absence of it in his voice.
Overall, amazing read 10/10 and worth that one credit!!! 💛🕺
